"Critter Comfort" is our business.

We now are offering basic obedience, puppy classes,
play groups, agility training and more.

We also have a fenced in area for your dog to
come and run and play off leash.

Please call us for more detailed info at 860-974-0256.

Obedience - Puppy Play Groups

Puppy Play Groups are a fabulous way to let your puppy or adult dog interact with others in a climate controlled, safe environment while you are right there to enjoy their antics.
Please be sure to call ahead to make sure this type of “free play” would be appropriate for your dog. Some dogs love the hustle and bustle of crowds, but some prefer a more controlled environment. Our dog behaviorist will help you make the determination.

Because of the differences in play style and physical abilities, our groups are divided by size.

Obedience - Beyond Puppy Kindergarten

This class takes the puppy to the next level of training. Geared towards the “teenager”, it helps the transition from puppy to adult. Our instructors emphasize techniques that build a lasting, trusting relationship. Some of the major topics covered are jumping, chewing, leash-pulling, sit, down, stays, come and paying attention. Also covered are operant conditioning, learning theory and the practical application of reinforcing behaviors. Students are encouraged to work with their puppies on a daily basis through take home exercises and games.

Obedience for the Family Dog

The topics covered are leash-pulling, sit, down, stays, come and paying attention. Also covered are operant conditioning, learning theory and the practical application of reinforcing behaviors. Students are encouraged to bring questions to class in order to work on any problem behaviors at home.

Advanced Obedience

This class is for handlers who are working towards an obedience title and would like a venue to practice and are looking to learn the finer points of showing in the obedience ring.

Focus with Clicker

Many dogs are caught in the “he/she does it well at home” trap, but cannot seem to remember their name when they leave the house. This class teaches handlers how to capture their dog’s attention so the dog will work in public as well as at home. Taught with a clicker, handlers will learn about marking and reinforcing behaviors and why this type of training is so successful.

Prerequisite: Beyond Puppy Kindergarten, Obedience for the Family Dog or the equivalent.
